Refurbished Water Softener & Filtration Systems

What is the Difference Between a Water Softener System and a Water Filtration System?

A water softener system and a water filtration system serve different purposes and target different types of impurities in water. Here are the key differences between the two:

Water Softener System:

  • Designed to address water hardness by removing calcium and magnesium ions.
  • Removes hard minerals such as calcium and magnesium ions.
  • Requires periodic regeneration to flush out accumulated hardness minerals and regenerate the resin beads. This involves adding salt to the system.
  • Typically, does not address taste and odor issues unless combined with additional filtration methods.

Water Filtration System:

  • Designed to remove impurities like sediments, chlorine, bacteria, viruses, chemicals, and more.
  • Targets a wide range of contaminants using methods such as activated carbon, sediment filters, or reverse osmosis.
  • Requires regular maintenance, including filter replacements, cleaning, and performance monitoring, ensures optimal functioning.
  • Can improve the taste and odor of water by removing chlorine, organic compounds, and other substances.
  • Generally, does not address water hardness unless it specifically includes a water softening component.

I have to start this review by saying I am a VERY satisfied customer , last year I had them recommended to me from a person I trust , I had issues with my water softener, I called them , and was told there was a person close by in the neighborhood. 45 minutes later a service person arrived and had my problem corrected in less than ten minutes!, please tell me ANYONE who has had that fast of service for anything! Fast forward to this year, again I was working in the house and had a similar problem with my softener. . I called late afternoon and was told someone would be there in the morning. They arrived and explained everything to me , they replaced some worn out pieces and had it running as good as new in less than an hour. I was given a complete and thorough explanation of the whole system. Just outstanding service , i highly recommend this company!
